Anabelle and Daddy Ad-veeeeen-tures! Yeah! *Jazz Hands* Day 10 -July 28

Let’s Get Ready to Crumble!

This was another mostly low key day.

Anabelle answered some of the Social Studies summer homework questions.  They mainly focused on the Presidential Campaign, until it made even the teacher nauseous, then he threw in some Olympics ones. Via the fanciness of the future, it was all done through her school Google account.  I stayed nearby reading or writing to insure my proofreading assistance was available when needed.

She also spent more time voraciously devouring her spooky asylum book, nurturing that horror affinity and laying ground work for that evening’s movie.

My sister had an appointment that afternoon, so her kids hung around with us for a while.

To make up for the charcoaled set at her house, I cooked up multiple loaves of garlic bread.

We had a PS3 Legends of WrestleMania and Italian toast party!

It was nice to get the game a good work out after years of creating characters, setting their movesets, designing entrances, playing them to get their stats up to proper levels, and uploading custom entrance music.

In other news…please help me, I can’t stop.

I was highly honored that all three of them argued about who got to be “me” in the game!

My sister’s visit completed successfully and she joined in the punching and crunching for a bit before bringing them home.

I watched Anabelle become a part of what she truly loves at the dance studio for her final summer class.

Stoking her new found enjoyment of scariness and Mel Brooks, we dined while watching what may well be the most perfect movie comedy every created:

Young Frankenstein

She’d seen it when much younger, when many jokes went over her head.

Plus Abuelita was visiting and we watched it in Spanish, which meant many of the jokes didn’t translate.  It’s actually a fairly atmospheric, creepy film when things like, “What knockers!” lose its double meaning.
