Disney World 2025 Planning Part 7

March 28, 2025

We agreed with Anabelle’s assessment that the live action Snow White was the best of that breed before bringing her back down to Villanova. On the way into the theater, I stumbled and undid months of work to make the pull in my ankle better. So that was fun.
(Foreshadowing- It took a couple days to discover just HOW MUCH fun.)

Dinner featured Disney Trivia. (Because of course it did.) We talked about Individual Lightning Lane ideas. We’re leaning towards Mine Train and maybe not Tron as there are likely other family members interested in that oddly positioned, only a minute long, coaster on a later trip. Rosa and I will be Rising with the Resistance alone.

The night in the creepy motel room we were checking out as a possibility for graduation that we will not be returning to included reviewing the Birnbaum’s guide together, and me taking several oddly painful trips to pick up supplies we forgot, or didn't think we needed but, due to the creepiness of the motel, we did.

When Rosa and I returned home, we learned Anabelle “accidentally” watched Princess and the Frog (We lamented Doctor Facilier’s song not being used on the new Tiana ride for the drop together.) Then she went on to Robin Hood. (We agreed Phil Harris “eats” every time, and that even though that may be the film with the most “reused” animation, it is still a great one.)

Rosa finds my old immobilization boot in the attic to protect me until I can learn what happened to my ankle.
(Foreshadowing- Crap.)

Anabelle “Accidentally” (I wonder how often we’ll believe that) watched Tangled.

Luke Skywalker showed up in Disneyland Battu, sliding the time scale further to
wards Mandalorian and away from the Sequels. How long before Rise of the Resistance gets a complete overlay?

Anabelle found the Goofy Spawn shirt she had heard about online, and then it vanished instantly. Maybe it will be in the Parks themselves.
(Foreshadowing- Alas.)

Parade times are posted until the end of April. Will we have to wait until the end of that month for the May times to be posted? Will my head explode waiting to update The Grid?
(Foreshadowing- Yup!)

Me- Character Recon- Dinosaur Chip and Dale start at 10AM in Animal Kingdom and go till 5:30PM. But Moana starts at 8:30 by Flame Tree! (She only goes until about 4PM) In Magic Kingdom, Mirabel starts at 9AM with decent frequency. Ariel is only 10AM to 7PM though, same with the Silly Sideshow. Looks like Rosa’s Boys are there 9AM to 230PM. “The Boys” are also in MGM by the Brown Derby. Which I feel we already knew.
Anabelle- *salutes*
(Foreshadowing- Rosa’s Boys are wherever Rosa is. We should know this by now.)

For the duration of the work on the replacement of the Bug’s Life movie, our little shortcut behind the Tree of Life is closed. That’s a shame. It was a quiet little path with great views of the Tree, as long as you missed the theater letting out.

This sucks. I learned yesterday my Achilles tendon is not only torn, but completely separated. Surgery is Friday. I had a partial tear fourteen years ago that was treated non surgically. Wish that doctor had told me what this one did about the twenty percent or more reoccurrence rate when compared to surgery's two percent reoccurrence rate. The Doctor who looks and sounds an awful lot like Peter Capaldi says I can make the trip… so we’re making the trip.

I immediately started the menu list a little early so it can be printed in time.

Parade times are listed till May 3rd. Will it reach our trip in time to print the grid? Who knows?

Anabelle watched Frozen last night. For as much as she thinks it got over hyped, she called Elsa building the ice castle a “core pillar of her youth.” This is unsurprising as she built an impressive recreation of it in Minecraft that was ENORMOUS.

Last parade date is still May 3rd, maybe they update weekly?

Menu document creation continues. With one Park of Counter Service places left to look up I told Anabelle and Rosa. Also told them the limo was booked.
Anabelle- “lit”
(Foreshadowing- There wasn't much waiting to finish the menu list.
Other Foreshadowing- The limo was booked because I mistook Rosa asking if I "called for the car" as her enthusiasm to continue trip planning in spite of my injury. Instead it was to remind me to schedule an oil change before my surgery. Honestly, I needed to believe the enthusiasm at this point.)

Menu document is done, and proof read. One more read through and its ready for printing.
(Foreshadowing- See?)

Anabelle’s Disney watch hit Moana last night. She thinks “We Know the Way,” is her favorite song from it now, but we both did flash back to when it came out and she was “absolutely insufferable” about “Shiny.”

Me- Mobile order can do gluten free now for the places that list it online
Anabelle- omg lit
I’ve been saying lit so often because it’s one of the few slang words that is like justttttt out of my kids’ time so they are always like, “ew.”
Me- Oooooh. I wondered
Anabelle- Also, I just think it needs to come back
Me- Ah
Rosa was also very glad to hear this news. However, unlike many modern couples we do speak to each other when in the same room instead of texting.

That’s weird. The Cavalcade runs twice a day in the late afternoon currently, but in April switches to twice in the Morning. No clue what it will be when we go. Great.

Me- Menus are printed. In other news, I am hilarious.
Anabelle- YAY! We knew this.
Me- Thank you.

Note- I did miss on the menus that Anabelle’s Souvlaki Flatbread at Pinocchio's Village Haus, which she formed an unhealthy attachment to, similar to mine with “Impossible Burger to the Moon” at Cosmic Ray’s has also been discontinued. Alas. Still, they do have awesome Chicken Nuggets there.
(Foreshadowing- And also at Cosmic Ray’s!)

Repair work is done on my Achilles tendon. Five-week recovery confirmed.

The Anesthesiologist upon checking my name and birthday- “Oh happy birthday, the same year as me. And what are we here for?”
Me- “Repairing the left Achilles tendon. “
Anesthesiologist- “How did you damage it?”
Me -“Just being old.”
Anesthesiologist-*double checks my chart* “Yes, We were born in the same year. You can’t call me old.”
Me- *very concerned about waking up later* “I meant getting older. “
However. I still maintain having Siri play “Eye of the Tiger” on shuffle as we pulled into the parking lot was an excellent sign.
Everything went well. Resting and healing now.

Along with the lucky Batman underwear, I had my Carrousel of Progress shirt on and The Grid in my pocket for extra luck.
