Disney World 2025 Planning Part 6

March 25, 2025
H minus 54 Days
Anabelle sends a meme “Every Disney Family has been saved by Cosmic Ray’s at some point in their vacation.” This is accurate.

Both Rosa and I, and Anabelle and I had been talking about single Lightning Lanes for Tron (Anabelle and I) and Rise of the Resistance (Rosa and I) and the fact that the Rise Single Rider line skips too much to be worth using it.  Anabelle and I had the following discussion (scheming) where the Single Rider search on the App revealed good news. (Because the App is actually useful.)

Anabelle- “What do you think the odds are of me getting on the Mine Train?”
Me- “I'm pretty sure that's a paid to ride one time too thing- like the Tron coaster. If you really want to we could do that.”
Anabelle- “bruh, I don’t want to pay 😤”
(Foreshadowing- We did anyway, it wasn’t much, and it was worth it.)
Me- “OK. Then it’s wait an hour, hope it drops late or get there early.”
Anabelle- “😔 pain.”
Me- “Sorry"
Anabelle- “I have beef with everyone that wants to ride the Mine Train. 😠”
Me- “Sorry.”
Anabelle- “It’s OK I will get thru this.”
Me- “OK. Hey! Ratatouille has a single rider!!!”
Anabelle- “You are joking. We should do that!”
Me- “No. Just checked to see if Mine Train did and saw that.”
Anabelle – “Where do you see that?”
Me- “You gotta search for single rider.”
Anabelle- “Wait that’s epic! I mean I knew all of them except Remy but still.”
Me- “Yeah. One less ‘keep an eye on that’ line.”
(Foreshadowing- Holy Moley! Did we take advantage of that!!!)

Rosa and I later discussed the option of using Disney rewards to buy Lightning Lanes. Gotta look into that
I did, you can.
Single prices- Mid April: Mine train- $14, Tron-$22, Guardians-$19, Rise of Resistance-$25, Avatar-$18.
Rosa also pointed out she expects them to start charging extra for the Oxygen you breathe.

We better be careful about trusting that Facebook Gluten Free group. The Disney menu DOES NOT say that the wings at the churro place are gluten free, but someone incorrectly posted that they were.

Got an email talking about deals on the room, thought it might be the one we missed. I called Awesome Happy Disney Georgia and learned it was only for upgrades to pricier hotels. No thank you, we will be unconscious.

More scheming-
Me- Looks like the Epcot to MGM busses are rare. We may have to take the boat the last day… or a twenty minute walk through the Boardwalk.
Anabelle- sigh
The Boardwalk walk could be cool. I’ve never seen it.
Me- Cool! The boat goes through there too.
Anabelle- But that involves a boat.
Me- Well. Yes
Anabelle- Boo hiss.
Rosa also liked the walk idea. Whether that will still be true after a week of walking a million Disney steps a day remains to be seen.
(Foreshadowing- Even in near hundred degree heat, we still thought walking was a good idea. Because we are insane.)

Our whole trip is now clickable on the Disney World Web Site calendar. YAY!

Me- The Disney Villain show, and the new Little Mermaid show open May 27th at MGM… Missed it, by that much.
Anabelle - They said: Oh this is a Snow White trip? Bet.

Buzz Lightyear updated with interactive, light up targets and removable blasters. It’s like they heard us say something was better in Disneyland and fixed it!!
(Foreshadowing- I am a fool. Of course they did not do this without a shut down. The change is coming later on.)

Anabelle came home for an appointment. She shared the myriad updates to her planning notebook, including a full character list, and the Must Do lists she told me about, featuring several “Never done by a McGinley” things, like Rafiki’s Planet watch.
(Foreshadowing- And now we know why.)
There is also a space for alcoholic beverages she has been or will be recommended to try… because time refuses to stop flying by.

She watched Pocahontas with Rosa (complaining about how awful John Smith was the whole time) Mulan split between the two of us, and Jungle Book with us all together. There were some more Disney films while I was at work, and we went to another in the list of “Underrated McGinley Disney Favorites That We Like Better Than Anyone Else” tonight- Treasure Planet. Since Anabelle liked the book, the Muppet version and this version, I suggested she try the original Disney Live Action Treasure Island. ‘”Why should I do that?” was the answer. Why indeed?

Disney is sending emails daily about summer savings on Parks, meals and rooms after we come back. I’m not sure if I have heightened awareness to this because we’re going, or (more likely) Disney sends stuff constantly, and we did get the best deal we could.

Confession- I often peek at restaurants I like that are not on the schedule for the current trip to see what I’m missing. Checking the current Brown Derby menu… I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. YA
Y!
