Christmas Village 2025

The Leader In Ruthless Sports Terrorist Entertainment
Or
I Am A Real American… Hero

We’ve reached that time of year!
The Eighteenth Christmas Battle Village is the first time that it is a true, immediate sequel to last year’s battle. Once again, many thanx are due to Doctor Miller, my dentist (retired), reader (long time) and friend (current) for donating the “guest stars” for both last year and this follow up after his housing downsize!

Disclaimer #1) I didn’t bother checking exactly which trucks were used last year or where they were placed meaning I set them up based on memory. I only checked after all the figures were set up and it was too late to move them leading to some locational shifts in this "immediate sequel." So there.
Disclaimer #2) I have given up trying to find the proper stand for each figure. No one can read them except me while I am setting them up, and the figures barely can stay upright on them anymore anyway as they get older, and the joints get softer. This is also why so many are becoming left-handed as their right (and more and more often, left as well) hand is stretching beyond usability.
Disclaimer #4) There was a wrestling figure I didn’t use: one of the guys from Demolition. It was pretty badly made to begin with, and really beat up. I couldn’t tell which tag team member it was, and he didn’t make a good story element without his partner.
Axe or Smash, I apologize.
Disclaimer #5) I'm almost positive there was a "Disclaimer #3" at some point. I know it wasn't that I am blatantly lying about never doing an immediate sequel before. I wonder what it referenced?

It Is Time.

The Joes and Cobras were completely overwhelmed on Sluttbordet Plateau last year by the invasion of the Miniature Marauding M.U.S.C.L.E. Men. Only by working together could the two groups of sworn enemies make any headway against their swarming attackers from another dimension. Technical experts from both teams joined forces to modify the "
Fractally Advancing Reality Transmogrifier" carried by the G.I. Joe “High-Speed Extra-dimensional Search Ship” to send the tiny terrors back from whence they came.

The small size of their foes was found to have been caused by a shrinking effect as they were extracted from their dimension. Trying to combine a mix of Cobra and Joe equipment in the beam generator unfortunately damaged the "Universe Gyroscopic Location Yanker." While engaged in returning the M.U.S.C.L.E. Men home the transportation and embiggening ray accidentally locked on to the middle of a 1980’s World Wrestling Federation house show. And now…

More Christmas Music Trivia

Since I can’t help myself, and accidentally knocked out this list while making the new Halloween one, we return to Christmas Novelty Song Trivia this year!

Once again, since “can’t help myself” is genetic, Anabelle has concocted another Rankin Bass Marvel Figure Christmas Special Tribute. This time out, it’s the 1975, clunkily named The First Christmas, the Story of the First Christmas Snow, ("White Christmas" was taken. You'd think they'd have checked that.) Anyway, it stared Angela Lansbury, who I , sadly, do not have a Marvel action figure of.

Christmas Music Trivia!

Christmas Time is famous for two things in our home.
Action Figures and weird music!

To be honest, the whole year is famous for those two things.
However, Christmas Time is when we advertise it more.

But first, here's the usual guest writer and figure poser to kick off the season-
The Marvel Holiday Actors are here as per usual to put on a show, this year bringing to life the Rankin Bass Classic Jack Frost. Since I (Anabelle) hadn’t discovered the absolute MAJESTY that is Jack Frost when we did the Rankin Bass setup that one time, we went full force into it this year. Here are all the roles:

Christmas Village 2023

A Mesozoic Daring, Highly Trained Special Mission Force
or
A Ruthless Terrorist Organization, Determined to Be Hos D'oeuvres

This year's annual battle is introduced by the Marvel Legends' interpretation of the Radio City Rockettes' "New York at Christmas" Production Number.
Around the Hess Tour bus are Enchantress, Scarlett Witch, Mantis, White Tiger, Dazzler (here for every Christmas, by law) Elektra, Polaris and Thundra.
A big thank you to Anabelle for completely ignoring me when I said,
"You'll never get that many Marvel Super Women figures to stand up."
Granted, they did go over like dominos after she went back to school, adding extensively to the holiday profanity party as I tried to fix them.

Anyway- on to the battle!

I Didn't Know Thats- Christmas Edition

Every year when we put up the Christmas tree, we watch the Rankin-Bass Classics.

Since it was an only once a year viewing, we never bothered to upgrade from the old VHS tapes of the shows. There was a period where we had burned the tapes onto a DVD and used that.

Then the disc stopped working, plus we lost it.

Christmas Village 2021

The Lovers, The Dreamers and America's Highly Trained Special Mission Force
Or...
Fifteen Seconds to Curtains- For Cobra

Wow, we've reached the fourteenth holiday battle following the same theme every time.
You'd think I'd run out of ideas by now...
And you'd be right.

Thanx to Anabelle for suggesting this when she cleared her other figures out of the way to make room for the Marvel Legends Twelve Days of Christmas.

On with the story...'cause there's always a story.

Jeff The Landshark's 12 Days of Christmas- by Anabelle

HO
HO HO everyone and welcome to the Christmas Festivities! I am your host, Jeff the Landshark  - the superior of all Marvel Legends Figures. Today I would like to show you my favorite Christmas song, with a little Marvel Legends twist!! (with help from Anabelle trying to destress before her finals of course)
For your own mental sanity, let’s just skip to the twelfth day. If you want to sing this fully at home to irritate everyone you probably know how to figure out each day working backwards yourself.
😃 Let’s GO!

Old Guy Game Guide: Cars Race O Rama

There is a weird connection with the Disney Cars franchise and my family.  The movies are around the top of my list for Pixar films and Anabelle calls the third one a "cinematic masterpiece."

Anabelle's Christmas Calculus Song

Hi all!

Anabelle had another assignment to write a Christmas song parody for math and once again she chipped off the old block her way into geek hilarity.

Happy new year everyone!

It’s fitting that 2020 marks the lucky thirteenth version of this foolishness.

With what everyone is going through, we could all use a little fantasy in our lives.

As an introduction, Anabelle presents the Marvel Legends version of the Nutcracker, starring:

2018 Holiday Parade Festivities

GooooooOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOOOoOOOood Afternoon! It’s Anabelle here, back again at the Traditional Christmas Village. It seems like this year, we got some new residents. Although I’m not going to go off on that tangent right now. Anyway, it is that time of year again: the time for the “I Wish I Was In Jeff’s Village” Action Figure and Hess Truck Extravaganza!

Christmas Village 2018

A Writing American Hero
Or
Here Comes Stan Lee Claus

I originally didn’t want to involve superheroes two years in a row for the annual Christmas carnage atop the frozen Norwegian wastes of Sluttbordet Plateau.  However, with the passing of Stan Lee, this is unquestionably the year a Marvel tribute is needed.

Cobra forces once again are perched atop the plateau.  “Weren’t they defeated by the Justice League?” I hear an outburst or readers cry.

Would you believe, a couple of readers?

Would you believe, it’s just one? (Hi, Mom!)

Yes, Cobra was defeated, but in the Mighty Marvel Manner, the Watcher asks:

“What if Marvel heroes and villains co-created by Stan Lee
joined in the annual snow covered battle?”

Christmas Calculation!

Looks like a get an early Christmas present this year.  A day off!

For extra credit, my daughter's math class was tasked with writing a math based Christmas carol.

Most others wrote or typed out something short and basic, to a simple song.

She made a giant, multicolored page with images, and parodied a Rankin Bass storytelling number.

I have no idea where she gets it from.

Come back next time for the usual Action Figure based holiday fun.
