Teacher Tributes- Music

There have been a great deal of teachers that influenced my career, lifestyle and personality over the years of my education.  However, as I was coming up for ideas for the list of these posts, I kept going back to Mrs. Windish, my grammar school music teacher.

The reason I do, is my near daily discoveries of how much I learned in her once a week class without realizing it, or trying to.

I am not, nor have I ever been, a member of the singing people’s party.

Anabelle and Daddy Ad-veeeeen-tures! Yeah! *Jazz Hands* Day 16 –August 3

Drive In, Turn Off, Shut Down

Anabelle spent the day having a hoot and a half on the slip and slide at Grandma’s, mostly trying to get wet without getting muddy. Because she’s fancy.

The kids were offered the option of the lake…but loss of Up the Lake weighed heavily on every choice. Their decision to always stay in the sprinkler or hose again matched my inability to get up the energy to use the fire pit all summer.

I got in to work, ready for only the second day with the air conditioner fully operational again to find a very dark building.

Anabelle and Daddy Ad-veeeeen-tures! Yeah! *Jazz Hands* Day 15 –August 2

Creepy Trees are Made of These

Being barely awake from another night of rain listening put me in the perfect state to try to cram a week’s worth of work into two days.

Jeff’s Cultural Hints:Art Stuff Part One

The recent travelogue about my daughter and my trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art probably came as a surprise to many…

Especially if they’ve been reading anything else I’ve written, all of which piles up substantial evidence of my pride in being an uncultured boor.

However, the MET ranks with the Bronx Zoo, and the Natural History Museum, as New York locations where I feel at home.

My slightly askew perspective from the rampant snootiness often associated with the fine arts may help others of the “uncultured boor” variety to find the same enjoyment there I have.

Therefore, I have compiled a set of ten helpfulish hints on the enjoyment of the massive collection of treasures

Shall we begin?

Defending The Final Defender

Let me get this straight.
Viewers and critics complained that Iron Fist isn’t good enough, for reasons that seem directly connected to the show following the character’s comic book history?
