Ghost of Frankenstein Through a "Kid's" Eyes

The first Frankenstein film without Karloff, but Bela's Ygor comes back!
Note- Unlike the immortal monster, there is no reason given for Ygor surviving the last movie other than he is "hard to kill."
Nice if you can pull that off.

Ygor is still a scarier and a more complete character than Dracula.
I will die on this hill.

It's cool to see Lionel Atwill's range. He gets to be a Mad Scientist in this one instead of a policeman.

Aside- Yes we did watch Young Frankenstein after the first three Frankenstein films. I was too busy laughing in anticipation of, at, and after every joke to take any notes.  Watching it close to the originals does highlight what a magnificent job Brooks, Wilder and company did recreating the look of these classics.

Left Handed Thinking

A short diversion before the next ongoing series of Monday posts.

When we were kids, it became clear that my sister was left-handed.  My grandparents didn't understand fully, leading my Dad to (calmly and rationally, which he excelled at) explain the genetics of the situation and that she had to get the left handed genes from both sides of the family.

Immediately, both Grandparents proclaimed in a highly offended voice:
"No one in MYYYYY family was left handed!"

The One... The Only... Frank Ferrante!

Yes, I know I'm behind on Marvel Studios releases.
They're great, watch them, you don't need me for that anymore.
Plus this is more important.
There are people who don't know who the Marx Brothers are.
I asked the young engineers at work if they knew and they all stared blankly until one said,
"The communism guy?"
This is a serious issue.

My trend for just missing anniversaries continues.
The famous Carnegie Hall evening with Groucho was fifty years...
and thirteen days...
ago.

This post contains bad, foul, filthy and unacceptable language - the words that “will curve your spine, grow hair on your hands and maybe, even bring us, God help us, peace without honor.”

This is not a post for children.  Kids, take a hike.
This is also not a post for those adults who are offended by this type of language.  Do yourself a favor, and go read some of my cute stuff before moral outrage can kick in.
Just about everything else on this blog is clean…Stupid sometimes, but clean.

The Wolf Man Through a “Kid’s” Eyes

As has been documented, werewolf stories are my favorites of this type of monster film.  Therefore reaching the defining lycanthrope movie was exciting for me.

Rosa excitement was slightly more subdued, as she asked:
"How many of these do we have left?"
Yes, she's enjoying them, but cracks have started to show. As we continued, however, she enjoyed them to a point where she was asking to watch the next one.
(Above and beyond as a way to avoid other weird crap I like to watch, I mean.)

Ring-Bits

My thoughts on a couple of days I was home alone-

"I’ve got some stuff around the house that should be done,
I’m way behind in my reading,
got a lot of writing and editing to catch up on,

Or…
