Creed 1.5 Let's Get Ready to Vortex!

What if...
After the First Creed Film, when Adonis was a Light Heavyweight contender, he fell into a time tunnel and the only way to return was to live through the life and fights of his mentor- Rocky Balboa?

That's a much cooler question than
"What if, Jeff played video games all night instead of actually writing content?"
isn't it?

Dad Lore- Number 2

These are all "weird flex" tales- moments of pride or an oddly presented compliment that were in anomalous situations, or unlikely manners.

All three happened after I had moved into my condo and was still young, but established at work.
The title comes from Anabelle referring to anything from my past she hasn't heard about as "Dad Lore."

Here's the second.

The True Philadelphia Heavyweight Champion

Joe Frazier got short changed in both "real world versus Rocky" line ups. Therefore, he gets an entire post with videos for each confrontation in the "Gauntlet." I chose specific locations to make it seem like Joe had traded places with Balboa throughout the film franchise. However, I'm old and forget things now, making that less obvious than it should have been.

The Other Italian Heavyweight Champion

After playing Rocky Marciano through the Rocky movie fights, I've adopted that "Gauntlet" as a way to enjoy myself with Fight Night Champion for an evening without having to spend time picking bouts. Since there's a lot of variety in the opponents, it makes for an interesting evening.

Classically Conditioned Champion Comparisons

I spent many a weekend night playing video games a while ago instead of writing…
Which leads to the inevitable group of posts about Fight Night Champion again.

Since I have no ability to stop the flow of usless information from my bucket like head, game information will me mixed with real world boxing history as well.

To highlight my laziness, this first bit lacks videos, and I was only watching the game have A.I. driven fights, not playing.

For a while, I wanted to see the outcome of putting the three shorter heavyweight champions known for their conditioning and damaging swarm punching against each other:

Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson and Rocky Marciano.

George Awards: They're Always Talking About How It's a Big War Out there

Warning
This post contains bad, foul, filthy and unacceptable language - the words that “will curve your spine, grow hair on your hands and maybe, even bring us, God help us, peace without honor.”

This is not a post for children.  Kids, take a hike.
This is also not a post for those adults who are offended by this type of language.  Do yourself a favor, and go read some of my cute stuff before moral outrage can kick in.
Just about everything else on this blog is clean…Stupid sometimes, but clean.
End of Warning.

Bray Days: Physical Education

Freshman Year was when I started formally exercising regularly. No matter where we ate, that and a youthful metabolism, brought me to levels of healthiness never seen before or since.

Aging is truly unfair. Now I have to walk/ bike an hour a day just to maintain weight, while watching my diet closely. Thanks to my knees (and most of the rest of me) running is no longer an option. Back then I could semi-regularly grab a bag of kettle cooked barbecue chips on the way back from a stint on the track and still be buff and slim.

Bray Days: Orientation Part 2

Note- That is version one of "the shirt." It was the black replacement that inspired the sign.

Orientation continued once we moved into the dorms (for real) the week before Labor Day. I was thrilled to be assigned to Bray Hall. While the overall floor plan and individual rooms were identical to the other freshman dorms, there was one difference. Bray had a larger than life sized mural of the Original Series (at that point, not counting one Next Generation season, the ONLY series) Star Trek crew on the bridge of the Enterprise.

A Carnivore's Guide To Cardiology- Big Five Oh Round Up Part 3

 Testing, Testing One Two Three

Since these are theoretically cardiology posts, rather than me just complaining about ailments, I suppose I should mention the latest battery of cardiac testing.

E-Dorm Life- Juggling Club – Brushes With Fame

There were two moments in our college career where the RPI Juggling Club had contact with some of the greatest Jugglers of our time.  Woo!

E-Dorm Life- Juggling Disasters

Another long one folks, hold on for the ride.  Sometimes the memories flooded back as I proofread, after everything was locked in place, yielding new and detailed stories each time.

I did a great deal of juggling at RPI, something else I learned from Jesse, both having fun in the club and in various performances.  It reached a point that if I meet someone who went to the same college as I did at the same time, I ask:

“Did you juggle or do a radio show? Otherwise, I'll have no idea who you are."

Subliminal Film Crew: The Revenge

I wasn’t planning on writing other dream posts, but  I seem to have insulted someone.
Yes, I have apparently offended my Subconscious Set Designers.

Atlantic City Summer 2017: Day 6- Almost Blinded

August 11, 2017

These anniversary posts are getting less and less commemorative.

Here's our last day of the trip for post number 800.
