Disney World 2025 Menu Interlude Part 3

Counter Service Continued

MGM- Wednesday, Morning of Sunday 2
Lots of little places on Sunset with tight focus. (Mashed potato bowls, burgers, pizza)
Hot Dog Sightings- [because some things are above important]
Dockside diner by Echo Lake has hot dogs, (and chocolate and vanilla shakes, and house made chips!) We will have to check GFness. [Later Edit- They had GFness! YAAY!!! Anabelle shared her house made chips with me! YAAY!!!]

ABC Commissary
Somewhere in MGM, I never know what anything is called. It’s two square feet we can find it.
It once was the best place, went way down hill, now has picked up.

Entrées
Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich- Grilled Sourdough toasted with Buffalo Chicken, Monterey, Provolone, Cheddar, and Cream Cheese served with a side of Buffalo Sauce and your choice of Side [This sounds insane. It’s like a northern cousin of the lethal Monty Cristo Sandwich.] [Later Edit- Maybe next time, my artery clogging friend.]
{...}

Plant-Based
{...}

Sides
Fries, Beans, Rice, Apple Slices
Arugula-Farro Salad- Arugula, Farro, Granny Smith Apples, Dried Cranberries, Plant-based Parmesan, and Pecans tossed in a Dijon Vinaigrette [Wow, did you escape from the Brown Derby and hide here with these pedestrian sides?]
Mini Babybel® Snack Cheese- Three individually packaged 100% Natural Semi-soft Original Flavor Cheese [Wow, Arugula Farro, way to sneak between the dull ones.]

Dessert
Strawberry-Lemon Cheesecake- Lemon Cheesecake with White Chocolate Ganache Drip, Strawberry Whipped Cream, and topped with Freeze-dried Strawberries and White Sprinkles [What’s with every place only having one dessert? I guess that happens when you drop them off the meal plan.]

Beverages
Many. Slightly less many alcoholic.

Backlot Express
Another “Gee that sounds good” when on the list that we never go to. It’s in MGM… somewhere.

Entrées
Smoked BBQ Pulled Pork Burger GF- 1/3 Angus Beef Burger topped with Slow-smoked Pulled Pork, American Cheese, Coleslaw, Crispy Onions, and House-made Sweet-and-Tangy Barbecue Sauce served with choice of Side [Tangy again, I feel a shift.]

Teriyaki Chicken Bowl- Seasoned Jasmine Rice, Teriyaki Chicken, Yuzu-pickled Edamame, Carrots, Cucumber, and Onions drizzled with House-made Lemon-Tahini-Chipotle Vinaigrette and Sesame Seeds [How did this hide itself in between the greasy burgers?]

1/3 lb Angus Cheeseburger- 1/3 lb Angus Cheeseburger on a Brioche Bun served with Carrot Sticks or French Fries [So it can only be gluten free with bacon on it? Does the bacon soak up the gluten?]

Southwest Salad GF- Romaine mixed with Roasted Corn Relish and Diced Tomatoes topped with Pickled Red Onion, Roasted Pumpkin Seeds, and Cheese served with House-made Jalapeño-Lime Ranch Dressing [Did this need a whole other listing? They could have just listed the above one and had a “without chicken” line. I think they try to make my self-imposed job harder.] [Later Edit- My comment is now confusing because I deleted the “southwest salad with chicken.” So was the one about the Cheeseburger since I deleted the Bacon Cheeseburger. No one reads these anyway.]
{...}

Plant-Based
Teriyaki Tofu Bowl- Seasoned Jasmine Rice, Marinated Tofu, Yuzu-pickled Edamame, Carrots, Cucumber, and Onions drizzled with House-made Lemon-Tahini-Chipotle Vinaigrette and Sesame Seeds [This place is a weird mix of unhealthy theme park standards, and hoity toity Los Angeles food.]

Sides
Cheese Sauce [Wow. Here kid, do a shot of cheddar.]
{...}

Dessert
Wookiee Cookie- Two Oatmeal Cookies with Vanilla Cream Filling garnished with a Milk Chocolate Sash on top [If you’re going to have only one dessert, this is the freakin’ way to do it.] [Later Edit- Dang it! That’s where this was! Perhaps I should look at the menu list while I’m there after all the effort I spend on it.]

Beverages
Many. Slightly more many alcoholic.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
Star Wars food, in StarWarsLand! I got one!!! StarWarsLand also has the Milk Stand (Blue Good!- Green Bad.) and the Ronto Wrap stand with the same thing listed for this place after Three PM.

Ronto Roaster Specialty (Before 3 at its own stand. Aren’t we fancy.)
Ronto Wrap GF- Roasted Pork, Grilled Pork Sausage, Peppercorn Sauce, and Tangy Slaw wrapped in Pita Bread and served with a side of Chips. Available after 3:00pm [Let’s hope they can address the global gluten free pita shortage by the time we go.] [Later Edit- They did not. Alas. But the GF wrap they used worked well. YAY! WAIT!!! There ARE chips on the menu! Dude, I want my chips! Will they mail them to me?]

Entrées
Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs- Pork Ribs brushed with Tangy BBQ Sauce and served with Blueberry Corn Muffin and Red Cabbage Slaw [Ribs! Are they the Sant Louis ones we like? The Memphis ones we don’t? Or from some other world? We may never know… especially if I eat a Ronto Wrap again.]
[Later Edit- I ate a Ronto Wrap again.]
{...}

Plant-Based
{...}

Sides
Blueberry-Corn Muffin [Blueberry AND Corn Muffin. The technology of a long time ago in a galaxy far far away is astounding!]
Crispy Herbed Yuca [Ooh Yuca! Sorry got distracted]
White Rice
[Later edit- No joke with the white rice, sometimes I don't delete the non-joke food when there is only one to keep me from cluttering up the list... like I'm doing now.]

Desserts
Black Spire Mousse- White Chocolate Jogan Fruit Mousse atop a Brownie Brittle served with Blue Milk Sauce, Pineapple Cream, and Hibiscus Sponge topped with a Chocolate Black Spire Coin [Star Wars dessert for the win, again!]

Beverages
Some. About the same some alcoholic. Many funny names.

Pizzarizzo-
The last hurrah before the Muppet Courtyard is gone?
No. Just… No.

Woody's Lunch Box
In ToyStoryLand. Ooh! I got another one! It has mix of grilled cheese sandwiches, some off label pop tarts and the confusion that led to believing in the existence of “Tater Tot S’mores.”

Featured Offerings
The Clawwww! Lunch Box Tart- Key Lime Curd-filled Pastry topped with Marshmallow Fondant, Sugar Candy, Blue Sprinkles, and Purple Crispy Pearls [Disney, we REALLY need to talk about the use of “featured.” It is a green pop tart.]

Daily Lunch Box Tarts [So… why am I bothering listing it?]
Raspberry Lunch Box Tart- Raspberry Marmalade stuffed Pastry coated in a Strawberry Fondant and Crispy Pearls

Entrées
{...}

Plant-based
Plant-based Totchos- "Chili", "Cheese", Green Onions, and Corn Chips served over Potato Barrels
[There are meat based Tater Tots? From the old days when the ranchers would guide their herds of tater’s across the range. Oh, it’s the topping. Too many quoted foods in this one.]

Toasted "Cheddar" Sandwich- Melted Plant-based Cheddar on Toasted Sourdough Bread [More cheese quotes. A tough call.]

Sides
Mini Babybel® Snack Cheese GF- Three individually packaged 100% natural semi-soft Original Flavor Cheese [And we’re ONLY describing the cheese again.]
Cheese Sauce [shots all around!]
{...}

Beverages
Some. Less some alcoholic. Alcohol in Woody’s Lunch Box? FOR SHAME!!!

Animal Kingdom- Monday, Friday
RIBS!!! YAAAAAY! And some other stuff. But most importantly RIBS!!! (Doing this not only to be annoying, though there is that benefit, but to remind myself that the combo plates mean I do not get enough RIBS. I may be obsessed.)
Hot Dog Sightings- [because some things are above important]
Flame tree has a Gluten Free one on the kids menu. I think Restaurantosaurus has them too. Whether I remember to go back to this note once I enter the menu is unlikely, however.

Eight Spoon Café
The pulled pork jelly donut is no more. They do, however, have pulled pork over mac and cheese, which is nothing to sneeze at. I think that goes against all of our dietary limitations, but it still sounds good in a “cardiac event” kind of way.

Flame Tree Barbecue- On the right side of Discovery Island, The Promised Land.

Entrées
Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler GF- St. Louis Ribs with Marinated Slow-smoked Chicken and Smoked Pulled Pork served with Signature Baked Beans and Coleslaw [Away! sampler temptation!]

St. Louis Rib Dinner GF - St. Louis Ribs served with Beans and Coleslaw [YES PLEASE!] [Later Edit- Whenever we have a plan to “get ribs before we leave,” and then I say, “I’m too full, we can eat where we’re going,” when we are leaving, please smack me over the head and give me ribs. Anabelle- "Will you shut up about missing the second ribs already!" Me- "No."]
[Later later edit- I believe I not only missed the second ribs, but my final chance to have the ribs outside of a combo plate. I may never shut up about this.
Anabelle- "Oh Lord."]

Ribs and Chicken Combo GF- Ribs and Chicken served with Signature Baked Beans and Coleslaw [Away! Combo temptation!]

Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork- Baked Macaroni & Cheese topped with Smoked Pulled Pork, Crispy Onions, and Coleslaw [Oh it’s here too. You can just cross out the Eight Spoon listing.]

Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich GF- Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich topped with Coleslaw and served with Signature Baked Beans [There ya go, Anabelle!]
{...}

Plant-Based
Impossible™ Burnt Ends GF- Served with French Fries and a Vinegar-based Crunchy Slaw [I’m sorry. Burnt ends of WHAT exactly?] [Later Edit- Anabelle does not care what they are burnt ends of. She liked them better than the pulled pork she used to get and will eat them again happily.]

Sides
French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese- French Fries topped with Pulled Pork and Cheddar Sauce [This will make the fries mushy. Don’t do that.]
A-Maize-ing Magic Munch Fries- French Fries topped with Sweet Corn, Chipotle Mayonnaise, Chili-Lime-spiced Cotija Cheese, and Popcorn
French Fries [Without anything stupid done to them]
Bug-shaped Graham Crackers [How did you sneak in here?]
{...}

Desserts
Flamingo Cupcake- Strawberry Cake, Strawberry Compote Filling, Guava Buttercream, Pink Crispy Pearls, Sugar Flamingo, and White Chocolate Wings [Knowing Disney’s cupcake fetish, this will be something else by then.] [Later Edit- It was not. It was adorable. It was also not eaten.]

Beverages
A large amount and an even larger amount of alcohol, which is listed before the food. There are an INSANE number of ways to get hammered at Animal Kingdom

Harambe Market
I literally thought this was just a fruit stand in the middle of Africa, but it’s a Quick Service place. Who knew? (Clearly not me, as just stated.) Pretty impressive, lots of Gluten Free. If it wasn’t in “The Rib Park” we might go here.

Entrées
{...}

Plant-Based
{...}

Sides
Seasoned House-made Chips [ooh! will they let me bring these to my ribs?]
{...}

Dessert [Listed first… respect.]
{...}

Beverages-
Not really a large amount, but an equal amount of Alcohol to get hammered in Animal Kingdom.

Nomad Lounge
Doesn’t show up as quick service. It’s a bar on Discovery Island on the way to AvatarLand. But we know why it is on the list.

Small Plates
Pineapple-glazed Pork Belly GF- Pineapple-glazed Pork Belly with Guajillo Chili Sauce, Chicharrónes, Spice Pickled Vegetable Slaw [Oop, Disneyland menu writer again!]

Churros GF- Vanilla Crema, Seasonal Sauce [Yup, this is why it is here.] [Later Edit- Rosa has decided to take her chances with regular ones and an anti-gluten pill instead of these. Maybe if the “minimal sugar” ones she ordered didn’t still have enough to give the entire population of Orlando diabetes…]

Beverages-
Good Lord! So many. Probably the most varied way to get hammered in Animal Kingdom!

Pizzafari-
Nope. Nope. Capital N O P E. Moving on.

Restaurantosaurus
In Dinoland (duh) might be worth a farewell even though it is standard theme park food. The hot dog is not listed as Gluten Free, but there are shakes.

Entrées
Foot-long Hot Dog with Chili and Cheese- A Foot-long Hot Dog served on a Warm Bun topped with Chili and Cheddar Sauce and served with Fries

1/3 lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger GF- 1/3 lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger with Lettuce and Tomato served with French Fries  [Wow, two for two Disneyland Menu Writer.]
{...}

Plant-Based
Impossible™ Spicy Southwestern Burger- Plant-based Burger Patty, “Pepper Jack”, Chipotle Sauce, Lettuce, and Tomato [That’s what I’m talking about. Can they send these over to Cosmic Ray’s?]

Sides
Bug-shaped Graham Crackers [Aah! They’re back! The bug movie is gone. Why are they still here?]
{...}

Desserts
S'moresosaurus Shake- Vanilla Shake with Chocolate Drizzle topped with a Chocolate-dipped S'more, Graham Cracker Crumbs, and Chocolate Sprinkles [Wall flavored drinks. Impressive.]
{...}

Beverages
A large amount. But significantly less alcohol than one would expect for getting hammered in Animal Kingdom.

Satu'li Canteen
Weird Asian type food that looks like Pandora food, in AvatarLand. (duh) Why do I list this? We NEVER eat here, and we barely go to AvatarLand and the descriptions are SO LONG. It’s because I have a Disney addiction. I can’t help myself. Here we go.

Entrées
Cheeseburger Steamed Pods - Bao Buns-Steamed Cheeseburger Pod stuffed with Ground Beef, Ketchup, Mustard, Pickle, and Cheddar Cheese served with Crunchy Vegetable Slaw and Vegetable Chips [Why do people go crazy over these. They sound vile. Yes, I’m an addict but a cranky one.]
{...}

Plant-Based
Chili-Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu Bowl GF- Crispy Fried Tofu seasoned with Chili-Spice topped with Crunchy Vegetable Slaw and Boba Balls served with your choice of Base and Sauce

Desserts "Ber'ri" [Gesundheit]
Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse- Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse with Passion Fruit Curd [Caught you, Disneyland menu writer! Thought you snuck by me on the Plant Based entry, didn’t you?]
{...}

Beverages
A large amount, and a large alcoholic amount, for getting hammered on another planet in Animal Kingdom.

Yak & Yeti™ Local Food Cafes
Quick serve Chineseish food. This is somewhere in Asia. I only found it when I was lost. We’d have to ask about Gluten Free. It really is the Lotus Blossom Café of Animal Kingdom. [Later Edit- Anabelle had free ice water here on her Animal Kingdom Walkabout. There was more to that, but I forget what. Moving on.]

Entrées
American Kobe Cheeseburger- American Kobe Beef, American, Lettuce, Tomato, and Asian Pickles with French Fries [Who let this one in here? I bet it was the Disneyland Menu Writer.]

Rib Tips- Pecan-smoked St. Louis Rib Tips glazed in Korean Barbeque Sauce with French Fries [Ooh, Saint Louis! Perhaps instead it is Flame Tree East?]

Veggie Burger- Crispy Quinoa and Vegetable Patty, Pepperjack, Lettuce, Tomato, and Yak Sauce on Multigrain Bun with French Fries [Yak… Sauce? How does one juice a yak?]
{...}

Sides
Side Pork Egg Rolls - 2 Rolls [These are good, and I say that as someone who doesn’t like egg rolls]
{...}

Desserts
{...}

Beverages
A surprisingly non-large amount, but still a little alcohol (including Safari Amber! YAY!) for getting hammered at Animal Kingdom.

Downtown-
They have food, we’ll find it if we need it. I remember a good sandwich place where Anabelle taught me the true meaning of “NEVER WAKE A SLEEPING BABY!” [Later Edit- In the place we ended up eating on this trip!]

Our Hotel- All Star Sports
Important note- the pool bar has Pina Coladas. That is all.

End Zone Food Court
They do have breakfast offerings too. Some of it Mouse shaped.

Easter Exclusives [Why did I put this here? It’ll be gone]
Thumper Carrot Cake- Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Buttercream

Dine-In Offerings
Additional Rotating Selection of Specialty Offerings Available For Dine-In [Well… that’s helpful]

Limited Time Entrées

Burgers and Chicken
Bases Loaded Burger- Bacon Jam, Onion Ring, and Beer-Cheese Sauce on a Toasted Brioche Bun served with French Fries [What is it with the weird jams? And why is this the only one with a themed name?]
{...}

Sandwiches
Honey Barbecued Pork Sandwich- with a Zesty Vegetable Slaw on a Toasted Brioche Bun served with French Fries [Disney still loves their “zesty”]
{...}

Pizza and Pasta
They have pizza (GF)… in Florida. Look away.
{...}

Hot Dogs
Chili-Cheese All-Beef Foot-long Hot Dog-Topped with Chili and Cheese served with choice of Side
[Dude, that is “hot dog” not “hot dogs.” False advertising much?]

Salads
{...}

Plant-Based
Korean-style Impossible™ Burger GF- Impossible™ Patty topped with a Korean-style Barbecue Sauce and Pickled Vegetable Slaw [What is with them moving to pickled slaw for these. Looks like I’m back to grilled chicken.] [Later Edit- YAY! Unlike the western parks, they allowed substitutions!]
{...}

Sides
French Fries- [Nice- no description. They kept the Disneyland menu writer away from the fries all the way through.]
{...}

Deserts-
A metric boatload of Disney snacks and other stuff.

Beverages
A metric boatload of those too, but we have MUGS!!!

Flower and Garden Festival Booths
[And their unfunny, but tempting offerings] [Later Edit- I still could not think of jokes for these… but have left the ones we ate at to keep a reference to the foreshadowing running gag. I also left the drinks I had as I believe they helped my injured ankle survive the grueling pace of this “leisurely” trip.]

Because… “Leave me alone, I’m on vacation!”]
