Disney World 2025 Menu Interlude Part 1

My obsessive love of Disney Food is a great way to mark post number 1600!!!

It is MENU TIME!!! Get your highlighters ready!!! [Later Edit- Anabelle yelled at me, but then did, in fact have a highlighter ready.]
We are going back to the Parks that actually list Gluten Free! (And also list when characters will show up, AND THEY ACTUALLY DO! But that is a rant for another day. Or it was many rants over several days, by Anabelle.) Therefore I’ll throw in the “GF”s where applicable. I’m not listing “dairy free” as it makes it confusing and is frequently accomplished by saying “No cheese.” In addition, we can look up specifics later if needed. Plus, Mami has pills for the inevitable milkshakes. [Later Edit- There were no milkshakes… Perhaps because with the better ability to plan Gluten Free food and desserts they were not needed. YAY!] This is a little earlier than usual, due to the somewhat above normal levels of chaos in our lives, but it should be close enough to get somewhat accurately excited about stuff. Not to mention, I saw a Castle dessert berry flavor update on AllEars that wasn’t reflected on the Disney site menus, meaning it’s all guess work anyway. Nearly every place has those prepackaged Gluten Free brownies and cookies that Mami does not like. Therefore, I did not list them. The little * still means- “raw food may kill you, good luck.”

Following standard (for me) format- [My stupid jokes will be in brackets][Later Edit- And jokes or comments from after we went will be “Later Edit” in brackets. Yes, I realize for this trip, those should be “Foreshadowing” for consistency, but I proofread this first and I’m too lazy to fix it. Besides, the “Later Edit” running gag is older than the “Foreshadowing” running gag, and therefore has seniority. Or something. Also, this is broken up into sections for the first time to be less overwhelming, and allows it to be ignored in pieces instead of all at once.]
{…} is deleted, jokeless food listings.

Booked table service meals come first in order. [Later Edit- Like… in order of the reservations. No one cares, moving on.]

Park Counter Service places are next, sorted overall by chronological opening order of the Parks (naturally). Are the restaurant locations in alphabetical order? Are they in preference order? Are they in the order the web pages opened when I clicked on all of them at once? [Probably, a mix the first and third since they’re listed alphabetically- sorta!]

The final Counter Service is the resort “cafeteria” in case we eat there on arrival. Based on the “shorter and more relaxed schedule” (which is still eight days of rope drop to Park close) I’m guessing there is less chance of a “we’ve had enough of this Park” returns to the hotel for dinner, but ya never know.
[Later Edit- we ate in the hotel more than I expected… or wanted to. With the quality of Disney Food elsewhere, and my obsessive love of it, I usually consider returning to eat in the hotel a failure on my part.]

The Flower and Garden festival booths are last. I have had them in this file for a month longer than the rest of it existed yet was still not inspired to make any jokes about them. Festival food is inherently unfunny I guess. [Or I remain an uncultured boor and have no idea what most of that stuff is.] [Later Edit- While I did not write jokes for any of it, we did partake in a fair amount from festival offerings this time. YAY! I may leave those in as a tip of the hat to “Foreshadowing”… or I may not. This is a pretty long food review already. We’ll find out when we get there, I guess. Also, the breaking up of the list was nice and even. However, then I went through and deleted a bunch of stuff I missed, but I liked the break points as they were. Honestly, almost no one reads these anyway, and I couldn’t be bothered.]

TABLE SERVICE-
[Thank you Rosa for joining me at the traditional six in the morning, sixty days before, wild food scheduling grab. We even managed to not book the same place twice this time!]

Day 1 Magic Kingdom
Crystal Palace at 430PM
Dinner is early, the Park is open late. We will need snacks afterwards. See the Plaza note in the counter service section for shakes. [Later Edit- They cancelled our six am flight because Newark Airport was a disaster, meaning we arrived two hours later and moved this meal later as well.]
A buffet with Pooh and the Hundred Acre Wood Gang. Will Eeyore be a lurking horror? Will Piglet pull a himself? [That sounded worse than I wanted it to.] Will Tigger bounce? [Duh!]

The Crystal Palace Buffet Offerings (Partial Listing)
[Wow! A “partial listing.” Half the menu is either “seasonal” or “assorted,” and the allergy section is “Allergen Guide available upon arrival to the location.” Good thing I make these lists huh? They’re sooooo helpful.]
Seasonal Salads
Seasonal Pasta
Mashed Potatoes [It is nice they let us know there are ALWAYS Mashed Potatoes]
{...}

Beverages
Yes- many regular and a mix of some basic alcohol ones.
Plus some weird all ages ones like:
“So Many Wishes” -Pomegranate Green Tea, Hibiscus, Lemon, and a dash of Star Dust [mmm- stardust, I guess they’re embracing the “glitter gets everywhere” life.]

Day 2 Animal Kingdom-
A rare table service dinner on a non-arrival day. No lunch booked. However [ribs] this park [ribs] has many [ribs] excellent [ribs] counter service [ribs] selections. [RIBS!!!]
Once the Park closes early, we bus our way over to:
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White at 7:30PM
With Snow White (duh) Dumpy and Gropey, and the Queen (AAAH!) [Later Edit- and the amazingly Awesome Happy Disney Donald the waiter]

And So The Story Begins... Shared Appetizers [Aww- so cute]
Rosa gets her own little tray here. YAY! [Later Edit- with only three of us, we got an all gluten free sharing tree set up. Then Donald dropped off some more meatballs! YAY!  Although...Those meatballs were not on this menu, or the menu I checked when we got back. Where did he find them?]

Smoky Mushroom Bisque Chive Oil GF [This had a different description both times we were there and was the same as far as I could tell. But it was delightful so who cares? Moving on!]

Hunter's Harvest Turkey and Chicken, Cranberry Preserve, Crispy Sauerkraut [I think this is the one in a pastry, which they are keeping secret for some reason, hence no GF.] [Later Edit- Yes it was. Hence the meatballs.]

Wicked Shrimp Cocktail GF  Bloody Mary Vinaigrette, Seaweed Salad, Spiced House-made Seasoning [Later Edit- This had different stuff with the shrimp when we went. Still good. They never change names here though.]

The Core of the Story Entrées (choose one) [I always forget these fun little intros… and dish names]

Royal Prime Rib Roast*GF- Horseradish-Mashed Potato, Carrots, Jus [YES! Practically a religious experience]

Magic Mirror's Slow-braised Pork Shank GF- Polenta, Spinach, Red Wine Demi, Gastrique [aka “osso buco” for one of our travelling party.]

Sorceress Spell of "Tricken" Chicken- Cauliflower Purée, Roasted Vegetables, Chimichurri, Vegetable Jus (Plant-based) [Later Edit- there was no joke for this one, but since Rosa and my entrée stayed on, I didn’t want Anabelle to get offended.]

{…}

Sweet Endings Shared Desserts [again – awwwww]
{...}
None of these are GF but Rosa gets her own little tray here too. YAY! [Later Edit- some were Gluten Free but Rosa got her own little tray anyway. YAY!]

Beverages
Many, of both varieties. Though I was shattered by its lack of Thyme on the previous visit, I may return to the Antidote anyway, if they can swap out the Ginger Beer for Root Beer. [Later Edit- They redid the Antidote completely, it’s way better now. YAY!!! The Enchanted Apple received high praise as well.]

Day 3
EPCOT
Lunch at Chefs de France at 1pm [‘Cause that’s when we eat lunch at EPCOT, duh.]
Dinner this day will be selected from the near infinite counter service and kiosk based offerings of the Flower and Garden festival. YAAY! [Later Edit- Or…maybe not. But Anabelle did get a new check box on her lists.]
Gotta ask for the Gluten Free stuff here, because the countries are all above telling us how good they are for allergy people. But Remy’s place has a good reputation for it online. Here’s hoping the “rat visit to the table” still happens. [Later Edit- the Rat visit did not happen. However, just about everything could be Gluten Free, and it was the best in Park meal any of us can remember. YAY!!]

Appetizers [not on the meal plan but if something strikes your French fancy, go for it!]
[Later Edit- Sort of on the meal plan. See below. Some French fancies were struck.]
Cassolette d’escargots de Bourgogne au beurre persillé (Escargot) Casserole of Burgundian escargots baked in parsley and garlic butter [“You'd think at a fancy restaurant like this, at these prices, you would be able to keep the snails off the food!”]

Salade aux lardons et croutons Selected greens, house vinaigrette dressing, bacon, tomatoes, croutons [Thank you for the “croutons” translation, I never would have gotten that.]

Salade de chèvre chaud (Baked Goat Cheese) Baked goat cheese with walnuts, grapes, tomatoes, endives, mixed greens [The descriptions kind of kill the need for the translations, no?]

{...}

Entrées [Wow! Even this header is in French]
Fruits de la Mer, tarte aux èpinard, sauce au homard- Gulf shrimp, sea scallops, spinach pastry, creamy lobster sauce [Mine!! I will fight you.] [Later Edit- Definitely worth a fight.]

Gratin de macaroni- Macaroni baked with cream and Gruyère cheese [You can’t fool me, Remy. Macaroni and cheese is macaroni and cheese, no matter how you zhuuzh it up.]

Ratatouille Provençale- Ratatouille, quinoa, olive vinaigrette, basil, tomato sauce (Plant-based) [There you go Anabelle!]

Jarret de porc braise au miel, pommes puree, tomatoes- Braised Heritage pork shank, mashed potatoes. Scallions, tomatoes [Sounds like another “Oso Bucco” here, honey.]

Boeuf Bourguignon- Braised beef in Cabernet, pearl onions, carrots, mushrooms, linguine pasta [No ketchup, Clark Kent would not approve.]

Steak Frites, entrecote grillé, pommes frites, sauce bérnaise *- Grilled Strip Loin, french fries, béarnaise sauce [“Don’t get saucy with me Béarnaise” I need to practice my History of the World quoting for this place.]

{...}

Desserts
Crème Brûlée -Vanilla Crème Brûlée [Nice translation, smart-ass.]
{...}

Prix Fixe Meal [Not on the meal plan, and made by selecting other stuff that is, so don’t worry about it. This is not the lunch you were looking for *Jedi finger wave*] [Later Edit- They added this to the meal plan, or it already was and no one told the website. It simultaneously made things easier and more complicated. But Anabelle got to have snails, and I had goat cheese, so it worked out. That is with the exception that Rosa couldn’t have cranberry juice, but I feel like we could have figured that out given a little more time. It still was not listed on the meal plan when we got home. I got nothing.]

Beverages-
Yes. Including a terrifying wine list featuring some bottles that cost more than the Park ticket needed to get in here.

Day 4
MGM Nothing is booked because table service here has frequently made us sad.
If they can get the Gluten Free Pita production back up and running- Ronto Wraps for everyone!!!
[Later Edit- They did not, however, we still had Ronto Wraps for everyone. YAY!]
There are other options too. Worst case, Downtown has food when we head over there post MGMing.
[Later Edit- Worst case turned out pretty tasty.]

Day 5
Magic Kingdom!
Lunch at 1250PM , because some FEIND stole the 12:30 out from under my very nose at Six AM.
Yes, it is Cinderella's Royal Table. YAAAAAY! PRINCESSES!!! YAAAAAAY!!! Guaranteed Cinderella YAAAAAY!
But awwwww, the kids dessert doesn’t include the make your own thingy anymore. Alas.
[Later Edit- but it did include an edible Sword in the Stone. YAAY! Also, a bonus YAAY! For Anabelle’s friend’s sister, Extra Awesome and Happy Cast Member Morgan. YAAY!]
Anyway

Appetizers of the Court (choose one)
Castle Salad GF- Fresh Greens with Seasonal Fruit, Blue "Cheese," Candied Pecans, and Riesling Vinaigrette [The danger of cheese in quotes returns.]

Slow-braised Beef GF- Carrot Purée, Red Wine-Onion Jam, and Horseradish Gremolata [I’m sorry. ONION JAM?!?!?! They thought they were gonna just slip that one by me?]
{...}

Entrées Royale (choose one)
Catch of the Day GF- Carolina Gold Rice, Shrimp, Sweet Corn Succotash, and Roasted Red Pepper Sauce [Hmmm, filets tend to be tiny and this sounds better than the “fish in a paper bag” I got last time.]

Chicken Roulade- Chicken Mousseline, Fregola Pasta, Pancetta, Carrot Purée and White Wine-Black Truffle Butter [This doesn’t sound as good as the fish, but being able to say “fregola” in public may tip me in that direction.]
{...}

Finales (choose one)
{...}

Beverages-
Indeedy- That weird stardust iced tea is here too, plus regular stuff. Lots of wines and champaigns, with a few snooty beers thrown in for jollies.

Day 6 Animal Kingdom
Lunch at 1135, leaving ample time to grab some ribs or gluten free churros before hopping to the Magic Kingdom later.[Later Edit- I totally should have grabbed some ribs. When will I learn?]
Tusker House Restaurant
Donald, Goofy, Daisy and Mickey party on by. Will Tiny Donald survive another meeting with his adoring ducks. He has seen things. So many things. [Later Edit- Yes, he survived, and THRIVED!]
Another buffet- so Rosa will get her Gluten Free tour there. The Bee Custard is no more, though. Alas.
Also, another buffet- making my lists mostly useless again.

Starters
Breads and Dips- Naans, Curries, Blatjangs [Didn’t Doctor Seuss write a book about those?]
Salads- Lentil Salad, Couscous Salad, Watermelon-Feta Salad, Carrot-Olive-Raisin Salad [Later Edit- I don’t think I’ve ever formed a relationship with a buffet salad before. Though it was none of these. Disney is magical!]

Entrée
Kids’ Picks- Meatballs, Macaroni & Cheese, Chicken Strips, Broccoli, Potatoes [Where are my corn dog nuggets? The Bee Custard loss was bad enough. Don’t do this to me Tusker House.]

Sides- North African Pilau, Spiced Broccoli, Red Red, [Red red, what exactly?] South African-spiced Cauliflower Curry
{...}

Desserts
Seasonal Savannah-inspired Desserts- Cheesecakes, Blondies, Verrines, Mousses [Later Edit- Them not listing the bread pudding caused Anabelle to panic. Fortunately, it was still there! YAAY!]
Plant-based Dessert- Seasonal Plant-based Desserts [Gee, thank you for listing that.]

Beverages
A large amount. Dang, there are an INSANE number of ways to get hammered at Animal Kingdom. Those poor animals.

Day 7 EPCOT
Nothing planned! AAAAH! It’s making me twitch. But this way we can take advantage of all the booths and stuff. I want my tacos. [Later Edit- Spoilers: I HAD TACOS! YAAY! We also did take advantage of the booths!!! YAAY!]

Day 8 MGM
God willing, by the time we are hungry, we will have had our fill of bidding farewell to Muppetvision 3D and hopped over to the far more selection filled EPCOT [Later Edit- There were more booth selections PLUS hot dogs! YAAAY!]
