The Mummy Through a “Kid’s” Eyes

Besides giving up on these black and white films completely, real mummies- like in museums- give Anabelle the willies. Therefore, not only was there no way she was going to watch this classic, but she skipped out on the Brendan Frasier trilogy as well.
This is a shame, as those are a total hoot.

I never saw the third one before…
Was not expecting Yeti.

Bray Days: We Thought It Would Be Funny

Aside:  (Yes, we are starting with an "aside." And also, apparently, a parenthetical.  Someday I will learn to focus. This is not that day.)
Above is a photo of the ENORMOUS model of the Capital District Area made by the RPI Model Railroad Club. It took up the entire basement under one of the dorms and I completely forgot it existed until I went looking in my Mom's old photo albums for pictures to go with these stories. That should highlight the fact that there may be many other lapses,  inaccuracies and fabrications in these tales from over three decades past.

Why I Should be Legally Barred from Keeping a Dream Journal

Introduction:
My dreams are usually weird enough to begin with that there should be injunctions against me trying to record them.  A few weeks ago, however, things went completely off the rails.

I had a nightmare.

Bray Days: Water Wars

The actual “parties” in the dorm were sedate enough to stay under the R.A.’s official radar, and keep Ed and his crew from shutting them down. However, there was something, non-party or alcohol related, about Bray Hall that inspired high damage bills.

We Don't Talk About Disney Movies...Usually

OK, we talk about Disney movies all the time.

How about: normally I avoid reviewing Disney movies. Because of my genetic predisposition to find them all awesome and wonderful, the write ups would get pretty redundant.

Encanto, however, is different, being that:
It takes place in a Latin location filled with Spanish language,
It contains criminally catchy songs by none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda,
It is almost entirely focused on the themes of extended family dynamics,
And most importantly,
It is freakin' brilliant.

Above and beyond the amount other Disney films live in our home, this one has become entrenched.

Bray Days: The Party "Scene"

That first year, snow or not, we had more contacts with official Fraternities than we would once we were fully isolated from them, by choice, in the E-Dorms.

"THE" Batman was the Appropriate Title

After thirty-three years of wearing these same sneakers (and the accompanying shirt) to Batman movie opening days, they finally did one in live action correctly.  (Nice photobomb, Anabelle.)

No spoilers...until I say there are spoilers later on.

Daredevil Birthday Surprise Post

Daredevil Through a Kid’s Eyes

Or

Happy Birthday Dad! Watch Me Have An Identity Crisis

Hi friends Anabelle here, kind of a plot twist if you’re an avid “kid’s eyes” reader, but it’s my dad’s birthday so bear with me. Father - thank you for shifting your posts around so this “present” can go up on your birthday, and happy birthday!!!

I Miss the Circus

Lately, I've been missing my childhood's annual arena trips to see Ringling Brother's and Barnum and Bailey Circus. We did take Anabelle to see it one of the seasons shortly before it closed down, but she doesn't have a connection to it, and doesn't understand mine.

Yes, these pictures are terrible and I could have gotten better ones online. (But hey! So could you!) However, going through these old programs really brought back the memories, and more importantly the wonder, into sharp focus. (Even if the pictures are not in sharp focus.)
