H minus 22 Days
Continuing with our post Grenada Sherlock Holmes viewing, Rosa and I watch Sherlock Holmes Smarter Brother. This has nothing to do with Disney, but I love that film and needed to mention it. Rosa didn’t remember almost any of it, yet still broke into “The Kangaroo Hop” before it started both times.
(Foreshadowing- Should have brought that to the Terror O' Tower.)

Stuff keeps getting added to the suitcase and pile to prepare for the trip. Wild.
(Foreshadowing- This is likely from my memories of
the Weird Al version. For anyone paying attention, this is also not really
foreshadowing.)
Even with my heavy warnings about Willie the Whale’s tragic finish, she was not prepared. Therefore, she needed a break from the older films, and watched Meet the Robinsons to cleanse.
It's weird that the online check in for
the hotel link is live (and has been for about a month now) yet just brings it
back to the main “MyDisneyExperience” page. You’d think they’d tell us what the
right day is.
I asked more questions online about the over
shoe RecoverX ankle brace and the guy called me immediately on a Sunday! They
do stand behind their products!

Twenty days! This would be far more exciting if I wasn’t still in a cast.
Anabelle continued with the old Disney
films last night, theorizing Dumbo and Saludos Amigos combined
are the length of one normal movie. For Dumbo, starting out she said, “’Baby
Mine’ is such a cute song, it’s too bad this movie is as dull as a wall. I like
Dumbo though, he’s cute.” She also had choice words about how mean the other
elephants are. I pointed out that things pick up with the “Pink Elephants” acid
trip. She forgot the Magic Feather shows up with only five minutes left, as
that’s the only part she remembered.
For Saludos Amigos, she realized
how much Disney was trying to help create stronger ties with Brazil. “Disney
was REALLY using Jose Carioca for a little while… Booked and busy.”
I noticed the other All Star resorts
having their food court menus updated shortly after I printed the menus, and
was waiting to have to overhaul ours. However, double checking, it looks like
they updated it shortly before I did the menus! It’s like they know we’re
coming. YAAY!
You can use Apple smart watches as Magic
Bands. I don’t think that helps us, as Anabelle doesn’t have one, I will never
have one, and Rosa has an Android one.
I just realized I got Rosa a bunch of
Chip and Dale stuff for her birthday and Christmas without knowing we were
going. Disney Magic!

(Foreshadowing- I did get her more after I knew, however.
Disney Addict! YAAAY!)
An email from the place I got EPCOT
books for Mom listed out the entire story of the Maharaja Jungle Trek. I shall
have to pay much more attention to it this time… and annoy my family explaining
it.
(Foreshadowing- I almost did. It was very hot, and it took effort to keep
pace with them… and I forgot most of it.)
(More Foreshadowing- clomp clomp
clomp.)

Anabelle has decided that since she’s so close, she will watch ALL of the classic Disney films, sadly including Chicken Little. If she watches Home on the Range she’ll be ahead of me, as I never made it all the way through that one. What was Disney thinking?

The
launching of this decision led to watching Peter Pan. While feeling most
of the characters suck, she did like Wendy, “Would die for” Michael, and was
still almost brought to tears by the “You Can Fly” part. She did agree Captain
Hook was a hoot (AND STINKY!!!) and thought “Swoggle Me Eyes!” is the best pirate
saying.
(Foreshadowing- It is also said in “The elite Neverland film.”)
An anti-Israeli ex-Disney World employee
was convicted for hacking into the Disney menu database and removing allergen
ingredients from items on menus and making some other changes aligning with his
prejudicial stance. Nothing was printed before he was caught. Why is the world
so screwed up?
The TayCo RecoverX brace -the
immobilization boot that fits over my shoe- has been ordered. Last night Rosa and I had
the same idea and we stopped to get sneakers which will fit its bottom strap
underneath.
(Foreshadowing- It did not fit on them, but they became my prime footwear for post boot recovery. They’re kind of dull by my wild footwear standards. However, the bright red highlights appealed to both Rosa and I, while the later replacements with yellow highlights were "Batman Colors.")
My physical therapist already agreed to help me fit it, and I will take his lead on if sneakers or hiking boots are the way to go. If this works out, the brace company will be getting one hell of a glowing review from me. They shipped it so fast, I thought they wouldn’t put the spare parts in… but they did!
(Foreshadowing- They did get one hell of a glowing review from me. The July 3, 2025 one with the EPCOT picture.)

Anabelle completed the first column of her Disney Movie list last night, moving towards finishing the entire collection. She said they’ve been good “in the background stuff” while she graded and stuff… or had the plague. She endured Mr. Toad first to reach The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. She was asking about the weird pairing. I explained it was the end of the Disney Anthology time brought about by World War Two reducing the animator pool. We both lamented the tragedy that Sleepy Hollow was originally going to be a feature length film with Bing Crosby songs. Alas.
She finished up with Pinocchio, (Missing
he “Dancin’ Dancin’” song from the Rankin Bass version and sending me a text
well after I fell asleep, “I DON’T WANNA BE A DONKEY! I WANNA GO HOME TO MY
MAMMA!”)
The Disney Store sent an email about
ordering stuff we’d need to pack for Disney World, foolishly assuming we are
not mostly packed already.
The brace place sent a link to the “how
to fit” videos and things. YAY!
Me- Someone announced “New Minnie Ears”
in Disney World, and it’s the Cinderella ones Anabelle got in California. She’s
a trend setter.
Anabelle- *laughs*
Me- Possible Menu update. Or minor omission. Online someone said the Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland has been safe for allergies for years. The online menu is tiny and doesn’t list allergies, but they have hot dogs and it’s near Pinocchio’s Village Haus.
Anabelle- “Oh lit.”
(Foreshadowing- "Lit" or not, we never even thought of food near this place.)
