Disneyland 2024 Countdown- Part 8

Booked the Limo rides to and from Newark Airport, and booked the cab rides from and to John Wayne Airport…
Or I thought I did.
Confirmation for the ride from the Airport to Disneyland came with the wrong date. I called the company to adjust it and was told you can’t reserve a ride FROM the airport without an account. I asked how I managed to do it and was told it was a mistake. (The website clearly lets you do this AND gives you a trip code.) He said the only way to do it was to have an account. I asked how to get an account and he said, “You have to have an account.” After some vaudevillian back and forth, he said the only way to get a cab from the airport is use the Cab Stand where they have a big line of them.
I may try booking it again, just in case.
Freakin’ California may give me an aneurysm.
[Later Edit- Getting the cab was one of the most Relaxed and Groovy experiences we had.
Getting back on the other hand...]

Sad news- A Few Dry Moments With Mr. Lincoln (the Hall of One President) and the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (rock climbing, slides and a pseudo bungee jump) will be closed when we’re there. I think we’ll survive.
Anabelle- NO… Forever????
Me- While we’re there.
Anabelle- Oh, OK. That’s fine.
Rosa- *laughs*

We brought Anabelle back from college for spring break and the power of Pixar Fest, and watching Elemental (which she got a new shirt for) cemented changes to a bulk of the shirt grid. We are starting to get into the “Relaxed and Groovy” vibe.

Whoah, speaking of on the fly, today when they announced an outfit change, I learned one of the characters at Chef Goofy’s will be Clarabelle.  We now have a noon breakfast there the last day.
Oh wait, Anabelle pointed out that spring outfit with Clarabelle thing ends our first day, so we have dinner booked then too.
[Later Edit- We went to both. It was a good move. Relaxed and Groovy for the win.]

Continued reveals of the Glory of Pixarfest and the Clarabelle meal means the shirt grid needed another overhaul. Anabelle used this notion as a good reason to work out her entire Enhanced Outfit Grid.

Looks like Grad night closes California Adventure an hour early Tuesday and Wednesday night when we’re there.
[Later Edit- Did we turn in early and get some much needed rest either of those nights?
NOPE! We hopped to the park that was open an hour LATER than California Adventure usually closes.
Why? “It’s us!”]

Autopia is changing to electric vehicles. Now instead of cramped, boring and smelly, it will just be cramped and boring.

Similar experience in San Francisco with transportation from the airport to Fishermans Wharf. Long, long time ago when the kids were still of single digit ages. Went round and round with the Limo person on the phone who told me it was $100 per person. Children under 12 ARE NOT FREE (as advertised). Long story short, I wound up cussing Mr. Limo out and told him to he should practice his high diving techniques off the Golden Gate Bridge to which he promptly gave me directions to HELL and hung up on me! Wound up taking BART ( Bay Area Rapit Transit) Subway ala San Francisco, Oakland and Daly City. It was not scenic but it was free and dropped us off across the street from a cab stand that took us to our hotel in 10 minutes for $35 plus tip. I made it an even $50 and I thought the guy was going to have a coronary thrombosis! He was a helluva nice guy.
Why do people try to screw vacationers that have come to their city to spend lots of bucks and yet get treated like SHIT! I felt like I was begging people to take my money! Lastly, San Francisco is without a doubt one of the coolest place to vacation. Since this episode we have been back at least three more times. More to do than one can handle in just one visit. Can't get enough!

Thanx for reading. What a mess. Glad it worked out though. Ours did to, same kind of thing found a really nice cab driver and got a good, safe and fair trip to the hotel. Used him to come back to the airport too. He was great. Other events at that time were...
Story fuel to put it mildly.
