As we are leaving Disney World after a ten day, whole family trip:
"Hey Dad, what's the difference between the rides that are the same in Disney World and Disneyland?" - Anabelle

Anabelle talks to me about really wanting to see Disneyland at some point.

Rosa talks to me about the idea of trying Disneyland next summer.
C minus an unknown number of days between 354 and 342
At some point after the previous statements, but before actual planning, the two of them talk to each other and it becomes more than two unconnected ideas.

I start poking around on the Disneyland website, because I have no idea how Disneyland works.

ALL THE PIXIE HOLLOW FAIRIES SHOW UP AT DISNEYLAND PRIDE NIGHT. Clarabelle is also there in a rainbow dress busting out dance moves like nobody’s business and becoming an icon. Anabelle wants to go to Disneyland immediately now.
C minus 326 Days
I download the Disneyland App, because I don’t know the map, or the attractions, or the wait times…
Or anything really.
C minus 309 Days
I bring up random Disneyland Trivia here and there.
It is met with either excitement or “I cannot think about that yet.”
Planning will be fun.
C minus 305 Days
I know there are three hotels, but I cannot find the Paradise Pier hotel on the map, and I have looked many times.
C minus 304 Days
Anabelle finds the Paradise Pier hotel in a total of three seconds…next to the Disneyland hotel. She makes fun of me about this…forever.
C minus 299 Days
Instead of our normal trivia, Anabelle wants to open the App and look at how Disneyland and California Adventure are laid out.
C minus 275 Days
While we go to pick up school supplies, Anabelle purchases a rainbow notebook and writes Disneyland 2024 on it. She states this is for “research.” That’s My Girl!
C minus 270 Days
Scouting Disneyland wait times is ridiculous. They’re all over the place with no pattern to time of day. Also, the patterns don’t match Disney World analogous rides. (Example- Jungle Cruise is often shorter than Haunted Mansion or Pirates…unless it’s not.) The fact that I never remember there is a three-hour time difference does not help.
[Later edit- Disneyland does not keep its App as up to date or as accurate as Disney World either. Freakin’ California.]

We merely think of visiting the California Parks and they get hit with an Earthquake and a Hurricane in one week. Nice.

Disneyland and California Adventure announce that the Extra Magic Hour Half Hour - that was in both parks every day - is changing to only one park a day…just to make my life more difficult.

This is a great surprise!! I can't wait to read. It did give my brain a bit of exercise, since I'm so confused by years. It took me a few moments to figure out you've already gone.
Thanx for reading. A good rule of thumb is my obsession over picking the right words and getting everything in line means any trip write up, including the planning, will post well after the trip happens.
Anabelle tried to comment, but the site is weird again- "I should prob name the days then, huh?"
My response- "Yes, yes you should. Thank you for that, and being, along with Mami, they key part of the fun of these trips before, during and after.
