Disney World 2025 Planning Part 8

H minus 43 Days
Lots of rest today. Still no update on Parade time listings. They mock me.

Anabelle decided to wait to watch Raya until she got home, because I got excited when she said she was up to it. 

(Foreshadowing- “Raya Enthusiasts.”)

Instead, she watched Frozen 2 last night which she declared was “Peak Cinema.” She is not wrong, it’s a heck of a film, the jokes land perfectly, the emotions are real and the songs are amazing.
 
She also learned the Powerline shirt she is after from The Goofy Movie is already fetching mark ups online because it’s a Park exclusive. It was only in World of Disney and sold out there. Hopefully, they notice the demand and sell it other places. Maybe we’ll find it in the Emporium, or some little store that people forget about. She needs to find it before Wednesday of the trip, to upend the Shirt Grid and wear it to meet Goofy Spawn, of course. (Foreshadowing- Alas.)

H minus 42 Days
Anabelle watched Hercules yesterday. Not much else Disney related. Except for Rosa being a Fairy Godmother and Saint taking care of me as the surgery heals. (Especially due to the reminder that Percocet makes me reaaaaally bitchy. Stopped that one very fast.)
 

Still no update to Parade or Cavalcade listings. It may be May before we know.

Parade listings remain static. It’s like they’re taunting me.
 
Anabelle survived reliving the horror that was Wreck it Ralph destroying Vanellope’s car. She really had a problem back then with expecting movies to end at their low point.
 
She also finally saw the email listing the Lightning Lane prices and answered:
Anabelle- Why did I not see this?
Lowkey. might shell out for the Mine Train.
Me- No clue. Mine Train is definitely a better deal, longer ride and lower price.

H minus 40 Days
Gotta be honest, I hate the feeling of not being able to enjoy being this close to Disney due to surgery recovery. I feel like we’re going no matter what but there’s too many unknowns to fully enjoy it. Poop.
(Foreshadowing- Little did I know how advanced that feeling would become.)
 
I printed the menus early, so of course, AllEars pointed out one of their favorite fancy fries options has been removed from Flame Tree. I’ll have to check if it was even on what I put together. Oh well, not like we eat those anyway.
 
Disney is emailing us a list of ways we could spend MORE money. How considerate.

The Castle just changed one of their entrees. I’m going to have to manually annotate the menu lists for the next week or so, aren’t I?
 
I jumped the gun on the Buzz Lightyear upgrade, that’s happening later, and shutting down for it in the summer. 

(Foreshadowing- See?)
 
Wait, AllEars was right about the Flame Tree stupid fries, but the Entrée’s I have for the Castle are correct, meaning they were a bit behind with that one.
 
Surgery check and redressing of the wound at The Doctor’s. Switch to walking cast a week from tomorrow. Then three weeks later switch to boot. That’s not what it sounded like he meant when he said, “You’ll be walking on your own,” when he first explained recovery time. For the trip I’m gonna need extra liners, pads, socks… boots.
(Foreshadowing- A really cool, high tech boot, in fact.)

H minus 38 Days
Rosa and I watched Alice in Wonderland last night, since we had a little time, and Anabelle watched it already. Walt never liked it because he thought it lacked an emotional center and was too weird. But we like weird. YAY!
 
Honestly, this really sucks. I always feel like there are things in the way of being excited about Disney Trips, but this one was so short term, it felt like there should be less. And now the ankle thing, and not knowing how the hell it’s going to affect the trip even now is driving me bananas. Basically, there’s an overwhelming feeling of, “Anything that goes wrong will be my fault.”
(Foreshadowing- Just wait, Jeff.)
 
Anabelle, after a full run through of her final tap showcase, had a rest day. She used it admirably as an experienced Fantasia double feature watcher, skipping the Sorcerer’s Apprentice in the second one, making Fantasia 2000 more like a short encore to the original’s performance. Yes, Anabelle, while the dinosaurs are cool, “Rite of Spring” does drag… especially for the mud bubbling tuba solo part.
 
Rosa found new shorts for Anabelle with flowers all over them and thought they’d be good for EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival. Anabelle’s review- “They’re hideous! I love them!”
That’s my girl.

H minus 37 Days
Rosa is actually getting visibly excited about the trip. As she usually takes the most practical approach of the three of us it’s really nice to see. She’s been checking the “Gluten Free Disney” group a lot and asking where places are. Additionally, she asked me for my Disney shirts for a pre-trip wash and store. She’s also working on a new Hakuna Matata shirt design for herself.
(Foreshadowing- The massive layers of chaos that had happened and were yet to come prevented this. Alas. It is now planned for the next trip. Y minus 480 Days, YAY!)
On top of all that, when seeing a picture of Chip and Dale she yelled excitedly, “I’m coming Boys!!!” YAAAY!

H minus 36 Days
With Anabelle coming home for a break after her last Tap Showcase tomorrow, we went back and forth about the movies on her list as to which we should watch together when she came home. She already did Great Mouse Detective, therefore, Rosa and I will likely watch that one together when we finish the Jeremy Brett series after Anabelle leaves.
 
If parade times don’t update tomorrow, there seems to be no specific time scale when they extend the calendar… other than to annoy me.

H minus 35 Days
It’s official, they are trying to drive me crazy. No Parade updates as we enter a new week. Well, maybe it changes on Monday.
 
Anabelle blew us away in her final Tap Showcase. Her senior quote and outstandingly technical and engaging Senior Solo were both Muppet based, keeping with the theme of this trip… and our lives really.

H minus 34 Days
Nope, Parade times are not updated Monday either.

Another menu change, why do they hate me? Oh, never mind. Cosmic Ray’s increased the price of milk by thirty cents. Really AllEars? That’s worth updating your site?
 
Spent a nice, laughter filled, lunch looking over the menu lists as a family. My jokes were (mostly) appreciated. Anabelle highlighted, Rosa looked at Gluten Free options and talked about churros and Osso Bucco.
(Foreshadowing- And I completely forgot almost everything I planned to do for Counter Service once we were there.)
 
When I finished work, I caught the end of Encanto with them. The quality of the music in that one is really off the charts.
