Anabelle's Christmas Calculus Song

Hi all!

Anabelle had another assignment to write a Christmas song parody for math and once again she chipped off the old block her way into geek hilarity.

Happy new year everyone!

Ode to Integrals
By Anabelle McGinley  19 Dec 2020
(To the Tune of “Silver Bells”)

Integrals, Integrals
It's area under the curve
Squiggly, add plus C
It is part of Calculus
Daily math class, such a hard class
Gotta put in the work
In the air there’s a feeling of failure
Students laughing, Quizzes passing
FRQ after FRQ
And inside every classroom you'll hear

Integrals, Integrals
It's time for U Substitution
Take derivatives, Plug ‘em in
Soon it will be understood
Drop exponent, then divide it
That’s the easiest way
Only if it’s not too complicated

Use the Fundamental Theorem
This is Newton’s big scheme
And on every test question you’ll see
Integrals, Integrals
It's area under the curve
Squiggly, add plus C
It is part of Calculus
This now concludes my dear Ode
